The Firehawks answered in the seventh. McDaniel reached on an error and advanced into scoring position before McCain delivered an RBI single to center, tying the game at 1-1.
Both teams traded scoreless frames into the ninth before Faulkner pushed across the winning run on a bunt single to walk it off.

McDaniel finished with a hit and scored the lone run, and McCain drove in the Firehawks' only RBI. King added a hit, as UT Southern totaled 11 hits on the day.
