MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After helping lead UT Southern to a pair of victories and a 3-0 start to the season, sophomore forward Christian Sentz has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

The honor is the first weekly award of Sentz's career and marks the first conference player of the week recognition for the Firehawks during the 2026 season.

Sentz was instrumental in UT Southern's wins over Bryan College and Brescia University, totaling six points on two goals and two assists. He played a direct role in four of the Firehawks' six goals during the week and scored the game-winning goal in both victories.

Against Bryan, Sentz broke a scoreless tie in the 69th minute and later assisted on Jinto Kanagase's insurance goal in a 2-0 Firehawk victory.

He followed that performance with another goal and assist in UT Southern's 4-1 win over Brescia. After the Firehawks fell behind early, Sentz scored the go-ahead goal in the 40th minute before assisting on Filippo Fregoli's goal early in the second half as UT Southern pulled away with four unanswered goals.

Through the opening three matches of the season, Sentz has emerged as one of the Firehawks' top attacking threats and a key contributor to the program's undefeated start under fourth-year head coach Bret Boylan.

Sentz and the Firehawks return to action on Saturday, Sept. 5, when UT Southern travels to McKenzie, Tennessee, to take on rival No. 10 Bethel University.
