PULASKI, Tenn. – Under the leadership of Andy Sharpe, the winningest head coach in program history, UT Southern men's basketball has announced its 2026-27 schedule, featuring 14 home games inside the Lindsey Nelson Center, a challenging Southern States Athletic Conference slate, and exhibition matchups against NCAA Division I foes.
Sharpe enters his second stint as head coach after originally leading the program from 2007-12 before returning in 2024. Across seven seasons at the helm, he has compiled a 155-71 overall record, making him the program's all-time leader in victories. His .686 winning percentage stands among the best marks in program history and reflects the consistent success he has brought to Firehawk basketball throughout his tenure.
The Firehawks open the season with a pair of home contests, hosting Oakwood University on Oct. 29 before welcoming Reinhardt University on Oct. 31. UT Southern then travels to Bryan College before competing in the Bethel University Classic in McKenzie, Tennessee, where the Firehawks will face Ave Maria University and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
A demanding November schedule continues with road trips to Faulkner University, Dalton State College, and Lee University. The Firehawks return home on Nov. 17 to host Crowley's Ridge College before closing the month with a visit to Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama.
December features one of the most important stretches of the season as UT Southern hosts four consecutive home games against Life University, Point University, William Carey University, and the University of Mobile. The Firehawks will also make a road trip to Blue Mountain Christian before wrapping up the calendar year with exhibition contests against Middle Tennessee State University and Austin Peay State University.
Conference play picks up in January as UT Southern opens 2027 by hosting Selma University on Jan. 2. The Firehawks then travel to New Orleans for matchups against Loyola University and Xavier University before returning home for contests against ABAC and Brewton-Parker College. Road games against Andrew College and Thomas University follow before the month concludes with Faulkner University visiting Pulaski.
February begins with consecutive home games against Xavier University and Loyola University as the race for conference positioning intensifies. UT Southern then heads on the road to face William Carey University and the University of Mobile before closing out its regular-season home schedule against Blue Mountain Christian on Feb. 20.
With a proven leader in Sharpe guiding the program and a schedule packed with conference battles and regional competition, the Firehawks will look to continue building on the winning tradition that has made UT Southern men's basketball a consistent contender.
