Jake Chaney enters his fifth season as an assistant coach with the University of Tennessee Southern baseball program in the 2026 season.

A 2016 graduate of Priceville High School, Chaney began his collegiate playing career at Lawson State Community College in 2017. He then transferred to Motlow State Community College for the 2018 season, where he earned his associate degree before continuing his career at UT Southern (formerly Martin Methodist College).

Chaney was a member of the Firehawk baseball team from 2019 to 2021, appearing in 81 games during his three-year career. He posted a .237 career batting average, tallying 13 doubles and five home runs.

Now on the coaching staff, Chaney brings the same passion and energy he displayed as a player, helping to develop the next generation of Firehawks both on and off the field.
