RedHawks Fall to Roadrunners

PULASKI, Tenn. – The Martin Methodist Men's Basketball team suffered a 77-72 defeat to Dalton State (Ga.) Monday night in the Curry Christian Life Center.

In a game that featured seven lead changes, the RedHawks (7-10, 4-7 SSAC) overcame an early deficit to build up a 38-31 lead at halftime.

The lead ballooned to as many as 10 points with 15:48 left in the ballgame, but the Roadrunners (11-8, 6-5 SSAC) went on a 16-5 run and retook the lead at 51-50. The RedHawks tied the contest with just over eight minutes to play, but the Roadrunners made one last surge to extend their lead and preserve the victory.

The loss spoiled a strong performance from Jordan Olison, who finished with a game-high 23 points. The senior connected on four of the team's six 3-pointers and dished out a team-high five assists.

Malcanee Mason and Dwayne Ward flanked Olison in the scoring column with 13 and 11 points each.

The loss marked the first home defeat of the season for the RedHawks and ended a nine-game unbeaten streak inside the CLC.

The RedHawks return to action for two more home games this Thursday and Saturday, when they host University of Mobile (Ala.) and Stillman (Ala.).
