Edgmon to Speak at February RedHawk Luncheon

PULASKI, Tenn. – The Martin Methodist College Athletic Department is inviting the Giles County community to attend February's RedHawk Athletic Luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Hickory House Restaurant.

The monthly event, which began nearly three years ago, is held the first Wednesday of every month. February's luncheon will be at a special start time of 12:30 p.m. The cost of the buffet will be $5 (excluding drink) and the RedHawks will pick up the balance of your buffet tab.

February's guest speaker is former Giles County and University of Tennessee football running back Sam Edgmon. Currently, Edgmon is Senior Manager for Channel Accounts with Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers and travel plazas in North America.

Edgmon will speak to the key elements in building his foundation for a successful academic and athletic experience that transitioned into an early opportunistic professional beginning. He credits his story of resolve and overcoming adversity to his understanding of the fundamentals of being a good teammate in both athletics and the corporate setting.

A 2007 Giles County High graduate, Edgmon received his Sport Management degree from Tennessee in 2010. Edgmon also holds an MBA degree from the University of North Alabama.

In addition to the special guest each month, Wednesday's meeting will also feature a brief recap and preview of RedHawk Athletic and Martin Methodist College events. A prize giveaway will also be conducted near the end of each meeting.
