Pulaski Native and UT Southern Alumnus Brings Decade of Training Experience Back to His Hometown

PULASKI, Tenn. – UT Southern Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Brandie Paul has announced the hiring of Ty Rose as the university's new Strength and Conditioning Coach.

A Pulaski-area native and UT Southern alumnus, Rose returns to campus with a strong background in athlete development, injury prevention, and performance training. He brings more than a decade of experience in sports performance and personal training, along with a well-rounded perspective as a former four-sport athlete.

"We are excited to welcome Ty back to UT Southern," said Paul. "He understands what it means to be a Firehawk and brings a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field. His experience in performance training, combined with his commitment to injury prevention and overall athlete wellness, will have an immediate impact across all of our programs."

Rose earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management from UT Southern in 2021. Since then, he has continued to build an impressive résumé in the performance training field, including two years of physical therapy experience and 10 years of sports and personal training.

In addition to his hands-on experience, Rose holds multiple industry certifications, including Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, Certified Corrective Exercise Coach, and Certified Nutritionist. He also founded a youth sports performance school in Pulaski, further demonstrating his commitment to developing athletes at all levels.

A graduate of Richland High School (2017) and a native of nearby Lynnville, Tennessee, Rose takes pride in returning to serve the community that helped shape his journey.

"I'm more than thrilled to work with the teams and athletes here in my hometown and alumni college," said Rose. "I've dedicated the last 10 years to training athletes in sport-specific development, with a strong focus on injury prevention and skill building. This is truly my passion, and I'm excited to bring that energy to UT Southern."

As Strength and Conditioning Coach, Rose will oversee the development and implementation of performance programs for all Firehawk athletic teams, focusing on enhancing strength, speed, and overall athletic performance while prioritizing long-term health and durability.

With deep ties to the community and a proven track record of athlete development, Rose's return marks an exciting addition to UT Southern Athletics.
