Bowling Green, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern (23-11) volleyball squad began MSC Championship play with a comeback win over Georgetown (7-21) 24-26, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-7.

The Tigers took the first two sets and appeared to begin the sweep over the Firehawks. In the third set, UTS blazed back into the match capitalizing on 12 Tiger errors. In the fourth set, both teams traded points back and forth. The Firehawks pieced a 5-2 run to end the fourth set and force the final set. UTS dominated the fifth set to advance to face #23 Lindsey Wilson in the MSC quarterfinals at 5:30pm tonight.

The Firehawks were led in kills by Maca Ruiz with 22. Laura Howell had 15 assists, and Olivia Cox added 19. Summer Jackson rounded up 23 digs.
