Portsmouth, Ohio - The University of Tennenssee Southern volleyball team defeated Shawnee State University (16-11, 7-15 MSC) tonight 12-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19.

The Firehawks (22-10, 7-8 MSC) were lead by Maca Ruiz with 14 kills, Kaitlyn Lund contributed 12 and Brianna Turner added 10. Laura Howell led in assists with 18, and Olivia Cox had a double double with 15 assists and 11 digs. Summer Jackson led with 18 digs for the Firehawks. 

"Big win tonight for our team! We had a very slow start in the first two sets and dug ourselves a big hole," Coach Jackson Lenoir said. "Very proud of our team for fighting through some adversity and regrouping to come together for a good team win!"
