MMC Splits Mid-Week Matchup with No. 5 Faulkner

PULASKI, Tenn. – Martin Methodist baseball used a 7-3 win to secure a huge non-conference split with No. 5 Faulkner University on Tuesday afternoon, dropping the second game, 6-3.

Sam King (SR/Madison, Ala.) hurled six innings in the first contest, scattering five hits and allowing just three runs to the Eagles. King fanned seven batters in the victory, and JD White (SR/Sheffield, Ala.) secured the win by closing the door on Faulkner in the 7th inning.

White also contributed from the dish with a 4-for-8 day at the leadoff spot, including two runs scored. In the first game win, Brendan Grainger (SR/Franklin, Tenn.) and Hayden Wright (SR/Huntsville, Ala.) both turned in multi-hit performances, while Wright and Potterfield each drove in two runs.

The RedHawks are back on the diamond on Wednesday with a road game at Blue Mountain College.
