KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team swept the twin bill with Johnson today. UTS took game one 6-3 and won game two 12-4.

GAME ONE

• Collin Huntley led the way with three hits including a pair of doubles. Drew Bailey added two hits. Hayden Wright and Blake Birdsong each added a double.
• UTS drew four free passes, while only striking out seven times.
• The Firehawks left nine ducks on the pond.
• Lance Pope improved to 3-1 on the year. Pope allowed three runs on three hits in six innings of work. Josh Simmons recorded his second save of the year.

GAME TWO

• UTS combined for 12 runs on 10 hits. Sam Bowling had three hits. Birdsong and Noah Junker each added two hits. Coleman Siniard, Michael Wurtz, and Wright had a hit each.
• Siniard led the way with three RBI.
• Brock Young got the start. Young allowed three earned runs in three innings of work. Cody Edwards took the win moving to 1-2 on the year. Drew Bailey pitched two scoreless innings to preserve the win.

NEXT UP

UTS will host #8 Georgia Gwinnett at Bobby Walker Field on Friday April 1st. The Firehawks and Grizzlies will do battle at 5pm.
