Firehawks Recognized in SSAC Postseason Awards

UT Southern Places Four on All-Conference Teams, Two on Gold Glove Squad

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced its 2026 baseball postseason awards, with multiple UT Southern student-athletes earning recognition for their performances throughout the season.

Leading the way for the Firehawks was Zac Wilson, who earned First-Team All-Conference honors behind a standout season as UT Southern's backstop. Wilson was a consistent presence in the lineup, producing offensively while anchoring the Firehawks defensively behind the plate.

UT Southern placed three additional players on the Second-Team All-Conference list. Jay Davis was recognized as one of the league's top starting pitchers after delivering key innings throughout conference play. Anthony Pastrana earned honors at second base, showcasing his versatility and production at the plate, while Evan Nelson was named Second-Team All-Conference at third base following a strong offensive campaign.

The Firehawks also saw defensive excellence recognized, as Reagan Tomlin and Devin Thrain were named to the SSAC Gold Glove Team. Tomlin earned the honor at first base, while Thrain was recognized in the outfield, highlighting UT Southern's defensive strength across the field.

In the classroom, UT Southern was well represented on the Athletic Solutions All-Academic Team, with a large group of Firehawks earning recognition for their work both on the field and academically. Honorees included Zachary Chaney, Baron Cribbs, Carson Foote, Bryston Greene, Andrew Henley, Robert Kercado, Anthony Martin, Maxwell McHenry, Nicholas McLaughlin, Jackson Moon, Anthony Pastrana, Collin Perkins, Steven Phillips, Jake Stuteville, Devin Thrain, Reagan Tomlin, Terrell Vines, and Zachary Wilson.

Additionally, Anthony Pastrana represented UT Southern on the SSAC Champions of Character Team, recognizing his commitment to sportsmanship, leadership, and character both on and off the field.

UT Southern now turns its attention to the 2026 SSAC Baseball Championship, set to begin Wednesday, April 29, in Jackson, Tennessee.
