Box Score COCHRAN, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team opened Southern States Athletic Conference play in a close game with Middle Georgia. The Firehawks trailed at the break but outlasted the Knights 83-79 on Thursday night. Five Firehawks scored in double figures notching the SSAC win. Koby Isaac led the Firehawk offensive output with 14 points, Mark Vance added 13, Adarion Hudson and Brady Brown contributed 12, and Tad Sivley tossed in 11 points in the win. Hudson completed a double-double with 11 assists.
UT Southern (5-2, 1-0) trailed Middle Georgia (3-4, 0-2) at the half 40-39 and the Knights outrebounded the Firehawks 15-10.
In the final half, UT Southern crashed the boards and outrebounded Middle Georgia State 17-13 and the Firehawks outshot the home squad shooting 51.6 percent from field.

UT Southern will travel to Brewton-Parker on Saturday, November 18. The SSAC matchup between the Barons and Firehawks is set to tip off at 1 p.m.
