Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball got back in the winning column in a showstopping battle defeating Cumberland 66-64 on Saturday.
Adarion Hudson led the Firehawks with 17 points and 10 boards. Kendall Wright added 12 points. Kavion Hancock and Malik Tyson added 10 points each.
Cumberland would jump out to the early lead and hold the lead for most of the first half. Both teams would pass the lead back and forth, but a Tad Sivley layup at the first-half buzzer would lift the Firehawks to hold a 32-31 lead.
The Firehawks would strike first in the final half. The Phoenix would soar back into the lead midway through the half. The final 10 minutes would mirror the first half. With two minutes left, UTS would hold the lead 62-61. After a CU triple to level the game at 64 with under 10 seconds left, Hudson would slash his way to the basket for the game-winner.
UTS would shoot 22 of 53 for 42% from the field. There would be 17 lead changes and 11 ties.
