MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Kevin McCarthy of UT Southern (Tenn.) was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Nicholas Graham of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

The awards are based on performance for the week of Feb. 5-11. 

Kevin McCarthy (UT Southern – SR – INF – Knoxville, Tenn.)

·      This is his first-career weekly honor

·      UT Southern played a pair of ranked teams with McCarthy hitting .700 and slugging 1.200, while totaling seven hits, three XBH, five runs and five RBIs

·      In a win over No. 8 Cumberlands, he went 4-for-5 with a double, a homer, four RBIs and four runs scored, while reaching base six times

Nicholas Graham (Faulkner – SR – RHP – Abbotsford, B.C., Canada)

·      This is his second-career weekly honor

·      Graham pitched the Eagles to a 6-2 win over Lindsey Wilson with five innings of one-hit, shutout ball, while striking out 11

·      He lost a perfect game bid with two outs in the fourth inning
