MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Men's Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon, and UT Southern's Louis Hester has once again been named the SSAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 6–11.
This marks the second-straight honor for the senior goalkeeper from High Wycombe, England, who continues to shine as one of the top defensive standouts in the conference.
Hester helped the Firehawks to a pair of strong results on the week, totaling 13 saves and allowing only two goals across both matches. He made eight stops in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Faulkner, continuing his run of consistency and leadership between the sticks.
The veteran shot-stopper has anchored a UT Southern defense that has steadily climbed the SSAC rankings, highlighted by back-to-back award-winning performances over nationally ranked opponents and key conference rivals.
UT Southern returns to action Thursday, October 16, when they travel to face No. 2 Lindsey Wilson at 7 p.m.
