TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - UT Southern was represented by competitors in both the men's and women's races at the 2025 NAIA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park, with all Firehawks delivering determined efforts on the national stage.
Women's Championship – 6K
Freshman Linah Ewoi led the Firehawks with a 182nd-place finish, crossing the line in 22:58.0 in her national championship debut. She was followed by Alyssa Andrea, who placed 247th with a time of 23:48.6, giving UT Southern two strong representatives in the women's field.
Men's Championship – 8K
On the men's side, Frankline Kipruto continued his standout freshman season by placing 56th overall in 25:31.7, showcasing an impressive finish over the final kilometer. Amon Rotich closed out the Firehawk performances with a 213th-place finish, clocking 26:45.9 against one of the deepest fields in the country.
Both teams had successes this year as a young squad and return a solid core to build on for next fall.
UT Southern's competitors collectively turned in resilient performances and gained valuable experience competing among the nation's best.
