Firehawks Earn Season Awards at Southern States Athletic Conference Banquet

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2024-25 Women's Basketball award recipients on Wednesday night. Several Firehawks earned honors at the SSAC banquet.
Takiyah Goff was named Sixth Woman of the Year. Ashley Dickey was named Newcomer of the Year.
Goff has been a spark plug for the Firehawks all season. She made 19 appearances averaging 11.9 points per game capped with a season high 25 points against Brewton-Parker.
Dickey also has been an impact player for UTS. She averaged 18.6 points in 20 appearances. She netted a season high 30 points at Life this season.
Dickey and Daysha Reid earned First-Team All-SSAC honors. Silkiari Vazquez-Troche represented UTS on the Second-Team All-SSAC.
LaRose Morrow, Reid, and Vazquez-Troche earned Barnes & Noble College All-Academic honors.
Morrow was also UT Southern's Champions of Character Team representative.
UTS earned the fourth seed in the SSAC Championship after going 11-5 in league play. The Firehawks will battle fifth seed Brewton-Parker tomorrow morning at nine a.m.
