COLUMBIA, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball traveled to Southern Kentucky for a midweek meeting with Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday. The Firehawks left the yard five times in the nine inning affair winning 10-7 over the Blue Raiders. UTS moved to 9-15 overall on the year.
UT Southern spread out 10 runs scored over five innings. The Firehawks took the early lead scoring three in the first and three in the second.

Cole Barnett reached on a LWC error allowing
Brayden Buckner to score. In the next at bat,
Coleman Siniard reached on another Blue Raider error scoring Billions. UTS led 3-0 after one.
In the second,
Collin Perkins hit the first Firehawk homer adding one to the run total. Billions followed up a few batters later launching a round tripper scoring Buckner. UTS led 6-0 after two.
Evan Nelson blasted one to left in the third making the score 7-0. The Blue Raiders would get two runs back in the bottom half to trail 7-2.
In the sixth, Buckner hit his first of two bombs, this one drove in Perkins. LWC added another run in the sixth to make the score 9-3.
Buckner added a solo shot in the eighth to seal the game for the Firehawks.
Hunter Hancock (1-1) tossed two innings not allowing a hit.
Weston Horton tossed the third allowing one earned run on two hits.
Barrett Brown tossed a scoreless fourth.
Chambers McGilberry hurled a hitless fifth.
Tavien Tigg worked the sixth allowing one run.
Austin Uptain tossed the seventh allowing one earned run.
Danton Rinehart and
Cooper Bailey split the eighth inning. Rinehart allowed two earned runs, and Bailey allowed only one hit.
Jake Stuteville closed out the game allowing one earned run in the ninth.
NEXT UP
The Firehawks will return to road traveling to West Point, Ga., to battle the Skyhawks for a SSAC weekend series beginning on March 14. First pitch is set for two p.m.
