PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team welcomed the Rams of the University of Mobile to Bobby Walker Field on Thursday. The Firehawks took the lead in the first inning and never looked back claiming game one 6-2. The series was scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but the series was shifted forward to beat possible bad weather. UTS improved to 11-22 overall and 3-13 in league play on the season.

Brayden Buckner hit a sacrifice fly to right scoring
Cannon Raby. UTS led 2-0 after one.
In the third,
Coleman Siniard blasted a solo homerun over the left field wall making the lead 3-0.
In the fifth, Mobile scored a run on a couple of hits to close the gap to 3-1.
In the seventh, the Rams plated one more run on a sacrifice fly trailing 3-2.
In the eighth, the Firehawks doubled their run total blowing open the game.
Cole Barnett's sacrifice bunt caused a Ram error allowing
Gage Beckner to score.
Collin Perkins doubled to right center driving in Barnett. Billions punched one through the right side scoring Perkins.
Jake Stuteville (4-1) tossed six innings in win. He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out eight.
Tavien Tigg (Sv. 3) tossed the final three innings. Tigg allowed one hit and fanning five Ram hitters.

The Firehawks will return action at Bobby Walker Field for games two and three of the weekend series with Mobile beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28.
