PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball closed out the weekend Southern States Athletic Conference series with Middle Georgia State on Saturday. The Knights took the final game 10-1. UTS moved to 8-15 overall and 2-10 in league play on the year.
UT Southern scored their lone run of the game in the first inning.
Brayden Buckner singled to third knocking in
Cannon Raby. The Knights scored four in the third and three in the fourth. UTS trailed 7-1 after six innings. The visitors added three more runs in the late innings sweep the series. The Firehawks were plagued by abandoning 11 men on the basepaths.
Ridge Raper (1-4) tossed six innings allowing 14 hits and seven earned runs.
Danton Rinehart hurled the final three frames allowing two earned runs on four hits.
NEXT UP
The Firehawks will return to road traveling to Columbia, Ky., to battle the Blue Raiders on March 11. First pitch is set for two p.m.
