THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team notched their third straight SSAC series win in a row with a come from behind 8-7 win over Thomas.  UTS moved to 16-26 overall and 8-16 in league play on the season.
The Nighthawks added two unearned runs in the first to lead 2-0.
In the second, Cole Barnett homered to left center, and Devin Buckhalter's sacrifice fly scored Mason Billions. UTS trailed 4-2 after two.
In the fourth, Evan Nelson reached on a sacrifice allowing Billions to cross the plate. Buckhalter's grounder drove in Collin Perkins. Cannon Raby followed up with a single scoring Nelson. UTS led 5-4 after four innings.
In the fifth, Thomas scored two runs to retake the lead 6-5.
In the sixth, the Firehawks charged back in front. Barnett doubled down the left field line scoring Cody Womble. Billions hit a sacrifice fly to center driving in Gage Beckner. UTS led 7-6.
In the eighth, Perkins added an insurance run on his single to left. The hit scored Beckner as UTS led 8-6 heading to the ninth.
In the ninth, the Nighthawks tried to retake the lead but ran out of outs.
Barrett Brown got the start working one inning. He allowed two earned runs on one hit. Chambers McGilberry tossed 3.2 innings allowing two earned runs on four hits. Jackson Moon (1-1) tossed 1.1 innings allowing two hits and striking out three. Ridge Raper (Sv. 1) tossed the final three innings allowing one earned run on two hits.

The Firehawks will return to the diamond on Friday, April 18^th, in another pivotal SSAC series with Brewton-Parker. The first pitch is set for four p.m.
