BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team hit the road on Saturday to close out the regular season with a twin bill at Blue Mountain Christian. UTS took game one 3-0 and fell in game two 4-1. UT Southern improved to 27-17 overall and 14-10 in league play.
GAME ONE: UTS 3, BMCU 0
UT Southern jumped on the Toppers early scoring two runs in the first. Marie Bodily doubled to right center scoring Kassidy Davis and Haley McDaniel. UTS led 2-0 after one.
In the fifth, Lauren Pettie singled to left and after a Topper error, McDaniel crossed the plate. UTS led 3-0 after five.
Ella Singletary (11-8) tossed a complete game shutout. She allowed four hits and struck out six.
GAME TWO: BMCU 4, UTS 1
In game two, BMCU scored three runs across the second, third, and fourth leading 3-0 after four.
In the sixth, both teams added a run. Mikayla McCain reached on a fielder's choice driving in McDaniel. UTS trailed 4-1 after six.
Stella Gilbreath (9-9) tossed three innings allowing two earned runs on six hits. Jayci Boozer tossed the final three frames. She allowed two earned runs on four hits.

SSAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The SSAC Championship will be held at Wilson Morgan Park beginning May 1^st. Tickets are being sold online only at ssacsports.com/tickets. Fans unable to attend can watch live online at ssacsports.tv.
