PULASKI, Tenn. – The UT Southern athletic department boasts an overall grade point average above 3.0 for the eighth consecutive semester. UTS accumulated a 2024-25 departmental average of 3.22. Fourteen of the nineteen varsity athletic teams at the University of Tennessee Southern earned at least a 3.0 team grade point average during the 2024-25 academic year.
UT Southern women's soccer produced the highest GPA in the department, setting the standard with a 3.63 team GPA. Ten athletic programs improved or matched their team marks from 2023-24 season.
The team GPA is calculated by dividing the quality points earned by the hours attempted during the academic year by all student-athletes listed on the team's eligibility certificate.
Women's tennis had the second highest GPA, touting a 3.58. Men's cross country followed with a 3.57, women's track & field took fourth (3.56), and women's cross country claimed fifth (3.50).
Seven varsity squads hovered close to or above a 3.5 team GPA.
Three out of the four developmental squads achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA, and the JV squads posted a 3.02 GPA.
