MONTGOMERY, Ala. – UT Southern standout Bruno Villazon has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance during the week of Sept. 15-21.
Villazon, a sophomore from Santander City, Spain, collected his eighth career weekly honor after a dominant showing at the Firehawk Invitational. He won the men's 8K race with a time of 25:20, finishing ahead of a field of 109 runners. His performance helped set the tone for UT Southern at its home event.
The recognition marks Villazon's second SSAC Runner of the Week award this season and continues his strong campaign leading the Firehawks.
