HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The UT Southern men's cross country team turned in an impressive performance against a highly competitive field at the UAH Invitational, finishing seventh overall out of 25 teams in the men's 8K race on Saturday morning.
Facing several NCAA Division II and top NAIA programs, the Firehawks tallied 259 points with a total team time of 2:09:18 and an average of 25:51 per runner.
UT Southern Individual Results
The Firehawks were led by sophomore Bruno Villazon, who continued his strong season with a 24th-place finish overall, clocking 25:00.2 (5:01 mile pace).
Freshman Frankline Kipruto followed close behind in 25th place, running 25:04.0, giving UT Southern a powerful one-two punch up front.

The meet featured a stacked field including NCAA Division II powerhouses Anderson (S.C.), Alabama-Huntsville, and Lee (Tenn.), as well as top NAIA programs like Marian and Mobile. The Firehawks held their own, finishing ahead of multiple NCAA Division II squads.
