PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern announced today the resignation of Head Swimming Coach Trevor Trimpe, who has led the Firehawks program since taking the helm in 2023. Trimpe guided both the men's and women's teams through steady growth and helped elevate the program's competitiveness during his tenure.
"We are grateful for Coach Trimpe's dedication to our student-athletes and the foundation he helped build within Firehawk Swimming," said Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Brandie Paul. "We wish him the very best in his future endeavors."
With Trimpe's departure, Assistant Coach David Hill has been appointed Interim Head Coach, effective immediately. Hill joined UT Southern in October and has already made a strong impact through his work with student-athlete development and daily training operations.
"Coach Hill has quickly earned the respect of our swimmers and staff," Paul added. "We have full confidence in his ability to guide the program during this transition."
UT Southern will begin a national search for its next head swimming coach at a later date.
