MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2025-26 SSAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, and UT Southern's Ashley Dickey was named both the SSAC Women's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week for the period of Jan. 19–25.
Dickey earns the distinction for the fourth and fifth weekly honors of her career after a dominant two-game stretch that helped propel the Firehawks to a 2-0 conference week. The senior guard averaged 19.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 7.0 steals, 3.5 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game, impacting the game on every level.
Her week was highlighted by a historic performance against Abraham Baldwin, where Dickey recorded a rare triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals, showcasing her defensive instincts and relentless energy. She followed that effort with a commanding double-double against Thomas, pouring in 24 points and grabbing 13 rebounds to lead the Firehawks to their ninth consecutive victory.
Dickey's all-around excellence on both ends of the floor continues to anchor UT Southern's success as conference play rolls on.
