Firehawks Hit Top 20 for First Time Since 2016

UT Southern Rises to No. 19 Nationally

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tennessee Southern softball continues its rise on the national stage, climbing to No. 19 in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll No. 3, as announced by the national office.

The Firehawks improved five spots from their previous ranking of No. 24, moving into the top 20 with a 24-4 overall record. The jump marks UT Southern's highest ranking of the season and continues a steady climb after entering the poll in the second release.

Tennessee Southern's strong positioning comes on the heels of consistent play in both conference and non-conference action, as the Firehawks continue to build on one of the best starts in program history.

The Firehawks now turn their attention to a pivotal week on the road, featuring a pair of top-16 showdowns within the Southern States Athletic Conference. UT Southern will face No. 14 Mobile followed by No. 16 William Carey in key matchups that could have major implications on the conference standings and national picture.

The ranking also marks the first time the program has been inside the NAIA Top 20 since the 2016 final poll, when the RedHawks were ranked No. 14.

The Firehawks will look to continue their upward trajectory as they prepare for a challenging stretch against top-tier competition.
