PULASKI, Tenn. – No. 25 Tennessee Southern delivered a strong response Saturday, splitting a twin bill with No. 13 William Carey at Royce Hughes Field, highlighted by a dominant performance in the circle from Ella Singletary.

The opener remained scoreless through three innings before William Carey broke through in the fourth.
UT Southern answered in the bottom half. Hall worked a walk and Bodily followed with a free pass before Mosley delivered an RBI double to left center, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
William Carey responded with a four-run fifth inning to take control of the game.
Mosley led the offense with a double and an RBI. Hall added a hit and scored the lone run, while McCain reached base multiple times. McDaniel drew a walk and added pressure on the bases, and Bodily reached safely.
In the circle, Gilbreath worked into the fifth, while Boozer provided solid relief to close the game.

The Firehawks flipped the script in game two, riding a dominant pitching performance and timely hitting to secure the split.
Singletary was in complete control from the start, limiting the Crusaders to just three hits across seven shutout innings while striking out four in a masterful outing.
UT Southern broke through in the second inning. King singled and moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt before Lindsey delivered an RBI single through the right side, bringing home the game's only run.
That proved to be all the Firehawks would need as Singletary worked efficiently, stranding runners and shutting down any momentum from William Carey down the stretch.
King led the offense with a hit and scored the game-winning run, while Lindsey recorded the lone RBI. Singletary also contributed offensively, finishing with a hit. Pettie, McDaniel, and McCain applied pressure throughout the lineup.
The game two victory secured a split against a top-15 opponent and highlighted the Firehawks' ability to respond against high-level competition.
Tennessee Southern returns to action Tuesday, April 21, traveling to McKenzie, Tenn., to face rival Bethel.
