2016: Grooms was a highlight reel in the outfield for the RedHawks during her four year career… Did not commit an error during the entire 2016 season, putting her atop the fielding percentage rankings in the NAIA… Recorded 3 hits vs. Alabama A&M (4/18/2016). Appeared in all 63 contests, starting all but one… Named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete during her junior and senior seasons. Named a member of the 2016 SSAC All-Academic and Gold Glove Team.
2015: NAIA Scholar-Athlete... Appeared in 47 contests as a junior... Posted a .248 batting average and a .257 slugging percentage as she transitioned to a switch-hitting role... Notched 28 hits and scored 18 runs... Drove in 13 runs.
2014: One of five RedHawks to start all 57 contests... Posted a .269 batting average and a .335 slugging percentage... Slapped 49 hits and scored 44 runs... Posted a career-best 23 RBIs and a career-high seven doubles... Also recorded one triple and one home run on the year.
2013: Appeared in 50 games as a freshman... Notched 45 hits and scored 32 runs in her first season as a RedHawk... Posted a .290 batting average as the team's everyday center fielder... Posted a .368 slugging percentage... Notched seven extra-base hits on the year as she collected four doubles, one triple and two home runs.
High School: Four-year softball, basketball and volleyball standout at Summertown HS in Summertown, Tenn. ... Two-time All-District softball player... Two-time All-District and All-Region basketball player... All-State, three-time All-Region and two-time All-District volleyball player... Graduated Valedictorian and received school's Scholar Athlete Award, Chemistry Award and Most Outstanding Female Student Award.
Personal: Daughter of Stephen and Dinah Grooms... Has one sibling, M'Kayla, who is also on the RedHawk Softball team... Currently majoring in Mathematics.
