BATESVILLE, Ark. (4/16) -- After splitting a home doubleheader against Cumberland University Wednesday, the RedHawks dropped a pair of one-run games on the road against Lyon College Saturday.
Despite outhitting the Scots 6-2, the RedHawks were unable to find the scoresheet in their opener, suffering a 1-0 loss.
RedHawks starter Katlin White (Sophomore/Alabaster, Ala.) pitched six strong innings, allowing just two hits and striking out eight.
Unfortunately for White, the RedHawks were unable to piece together a hit when they needed it most - stranding a total of six baserunners in the loss.
In the nightcap, the RedHawks once again left six runners on base in a 2-1 defeat.
RedHawks starter Chrissy Worth (Junior/Cornersville, Tenn.) scattered five hits and two runs over six innings, but Lyon starter Cassie White allowed just two hits and one run over seven innings.
In the end, the RedHawks left a total of 12 runners on base over the doubleheader, dropping the club to 22-23 overall and 8-14 in the TranSouth Athletic Conference.
The RedHawks continue their road trip Sunday with a visit to Freed-Hardeman University and a stop at Blue Mountain College on Tuesday before returning home for a conference doubleheader against Union University on Thursday.
