NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vee Young of Martin Methodist College is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, January 29, 2012. It is the third time this season that Young has earned the award.

Young, a six-foot-one senior forward from Pulaski, Tenn., averaged 26 points and 10.5 rebounds per game over two wins for the RedHawks this week. Young scored 31 points in just 36 minutes of play in a 83-77 overtime win at Trevecca. Young added 12 rebounds and two blocks. Young shot 51% (18-35) from the field and hit 75% (15-20) from the foul line for the week.

Young added 21 points and nine rebounds in MMC's 77-74 win over Bethel University.

MMC takes to the court in non-conference play on Tuesday night, facing off with Allen University at 6pm.
