Softball: RedHawks Ink Local Standout Jazmen Howard

PULASKI, Tenn. – Martin Methodist Softball head coach Brandie Paul has announced the signing of Jazmen Howard to the school's 2013 recruiting class.

Howard, a 5-foot-4 switch-hitting center fielder, spent the last four years as a starter at local Giles County High School under head coach Bill Jennings and assistant Donna Cobb. Midway through her senior season, Howard has impressed at the plate, posting a .394 batting average to go along with seven runs scored and five RBIs. Howard has also hit for power this season, cranking three doubles, one triple and one home run.

In addition to her softball prowess, Howard was also heavily involved in other athletic endeavors, serving as a member of the Giles County Volleyball team and Cheerleading squad.

Howard also served as a model student in the classroom, finishing ranked No. 9 in her senior class academically. During her time at Giles County, Howard has been involved in the school's Student Council, FCA, HOSA and Interact Clubs.

Howard is the daughter of Stanley Howard and Shelia Linley.
