Firehawks Set Sights on 2027 Campaign with Another Championship-Caliber Schedule

Davis Enters her fourth Season With a 90-62 Career Record as UT Southern Pursues Another Postseason Run

PULASKI, Tenn. – Coming off back-to-back NAIA National Championship appearances, the UT Southern softball program has unveiled its 2027 schedule as Head Coach Murphy Davis enters her fourth season leading the Firehawks.

Davis has quickly established UT Southern as one of the premier programs in the NAIA, compiling a 90-62 record during her first three seasons at the helm. The 2027 slate features a challenging mix of regional rivals, nationally recognized competition, and a full Southern States Athletic Conference schedule as the Firehawks look to make another deep postseason run.

The season begins on February 10 with a road doubleheader against Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Firehawks then open their home campaign the following day when they welcome Oakwood University to Pulaski.

UT Southern's non-conference schedule includes home dates against Bethel University, Bryan College, Freed-Hardeman University, and Williams Baptist University, along with road contests at Cumberland University and the Gulf Shores Tournament in early March.

Conference play begins March 2 with a road trip to Blue Mountain Christian University before the Firehawks open their SSAC home schedule on March 19 against Faulkner University. The conference home docket features matchups with Faulkner, Andrew College, William Carey University, Xavier University, Thomas University, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and Blue Mountain Christian.

One of the highlights of the season comes during a four-game SSAC Cross Over Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama on April 2-3. The Firehawks will square off against Xavier, ABAC, Wesleyan College, and William Carey in a weekend that could have significant implications in the conference standings.

The road portion of conference play includes trips to Brewton-Parker College, University of Mobile, Point University, Andrew College, and Faulkner University. The regular season concludes May 1 in Montgomery against Faulkner before the conference tournament begins May 5 in Decatur, Alabama.

The Firehawks will play 42 regular-season games before turning their attention toward postseason competition and another bid for NAIA national prominence.
