RedHawks Cruise Past Barons in CLC

PULASKI, Tenn.Erin Freeman turned in the best game of her young career and the Martin Methodist Women's Basketball team cruised to an 81-51 victory over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College Thursday night in the Curry Christian Life Center.

Freeman paced the RedHawks (22-6, 12-2 SSAC) with career highs in points (25), rebounds (10) and steals (5). The 25-point, 10-rebound effort marked her first-ever double-double. Freeman also sank a career-best 10 field goals on 16 shots in the blowout victory.

The RedHawks never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 30 late in the ballgame. The win snapped a two-game losing skid for the RedHawks, who had rattled off 12 straight wins in conference play to begin the year.

The win also marked a 13th straight home win for the RedHawks, who improved to 13-0 in the CLC this season.

In addition to the stellar night from Freeman, the RedHawks also received double-digit scoring efforts from Jemia Carpenter and Lacey Reed, who notched 14 and 13 points each, respectively. Both Carpenter and Reed each tracked down eight rebounds in the win.

The RedHawks will close out their 2018 regular home schedule on Saturday when they host Middle Georgia State College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

The RedHawk Men and Women's Basketball teams will celebrate Senior Night in between Saturday's doubleheader.
