Sherrow Sets Program Records in Blowout Win

PULASKI, Tenn. – In the midst of a record-breaking year, Faith Sherrow delivered another record-breaking performance Thursday night as she scored 42 points and knocked down 10 3-pointers in Martin Methodist's 86-50 win versus Brewton-Parker (Ga.).

Sherrow's 42 points are the most in the DakStats era, which dates back to 2004. Former RedHawk standouts Vee Young and Micah Anderson both scored 39 to hold the high mark until Sherrow's record-breaking night.

Sherrow caught fire early in the contest, sinking her first triple just over a minute into the ballgame. She would swish home another triple in the opening quarter as the RedHawks (18-10, 9-4 SSAC) started to rack up their lead.

The second quarter is where the game broke open for Sherrow as she connected on five 3-pointers in a four-plus minute stretch. Her seven first-half triples marked the old RedHawk 3-point record, which was later broken by Sherrow just two weeks ago.

Sherrow finished with 31 points in the first half as the RedHawks built a 43-17 lead.

The second half saw Sherrow connect on her first attempt of the third quarter, and the sophomore added two more triples to finish with 10 – besting her own record of nine set versus Blue Mountain (Miss.) back on Feb. 8.

In all, Sherrow finished the game 15-of-26 from the floor (.576) and 10-of-18 from distance (.555). Two of Sherrow's attempts came as time wound down on the shot clock and at the end of the first half.

The sophomore almost notched her first-ever double-double as she tracked down eight rebounds in the win.

Hailey Browning scored 13 to flank Sherrow in the score column.

With the win, the RedHawks all but wrapped up at least a third-place finish in the SSAC regular-season standings.

The RedHawks still have three more contests to play, beginning Saturday with a matchup versus Florida College.
