LEBANON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball team took a tough conference road loss in an 80-61 result with Cumberland on Tuesday.

Takiyah Goff led the Firehawks with 13 points. Halle Jones added 10.

CU attacked early busting out to a 30-11 lead after one quarter. They would continue to outscore the Firehawks 15-11 in the second stanza and 17-13 in the third period.

UTS would shoot 22 of 55 for 40% from the field. There would be three lead changes and two ties.

The Firehawks will travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. for an MSC face-off with #1 Thomas More on Thursday, December 1st. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m.
