Box Score 2 PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team swept visiting Talladega today in a twin bill. UTS thrilled the home crowd with a 1-0 victory in game one. Hayley Parrott smacked the left-field foul pole in the seventh for a UTS walk-off win. In game two, Talladega took a 1-0 lead early, but the Firehawks would answer with four in the third and three more in the sixth to win 7-3.
GAME ONE
- Parrott led the way with two of UTS' three hits. Carlie Pendley had the other Firehawk hit.
- The Firehawks left four runners on base.
- Kamryn Murdock threw a complete game allowing only two hits. Murdock improved to 4-4 on the year fanning five batters.
GAME TWO
- UTS combined for seven runs on 10 hits. Parrott went three-for-three to pace the Firehawks. Allie Toone added a pair of hits. Bree Brady, Samantha King, Shelby Clifton, Taylor Latham, and Pendley each recorded a hit.
- Parrott had the lone extra-base hit of game two with a double.
- The Firehawks left five on base.
- King took the win improving to 8-2 with a six innings performance. She allowed only two hits one of which was a long ball. Macey Ciramella hurled the seventh for the Firehawks.
NEXT UP
UTS will travel to Henderson, Tenn. to face former TSAC foe #4 Freed-Hardeman. Friday will feature a twin bill beginning at 4 pm.
