Box Score 2 PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team dropped the final two games of the series with Cumberland. CU took game two 26-10 and won a marathon game three 15-8.
UTS honored seven seniors: Jake Jackson, Tristan Carson, Camden Angell, Derrick Junker, Logan Matthewson, Brock Young, and Austin Huggins.
GAME TWO
- UTS produced 17 hits. Hayden Wright led the way with four, Lance Pope, Michael Wurtz, and Derrick Junker added a pair. Brantley Holden, Chandler Jordan, Noah Junker, Nick Davis, Collin Huntley, Blake Birdsong, and Sam Bowling each added a hit.
- UTS struck out eight times.
- The Firehawks left 10 on base.
- Wright had a pair of homers, D. Junker also went yard.
- Nathan Curtis took the loss falling to 3-4 on the year.
GAME FOUR
- UTS scored eight runs on 11 hits. Angell, Pope, and Coleman Siniard each had two hits. Wright, Trent Rhinehart, D. Junker, Cooper Mann, and Janzen Powell each added a hit.
- Pope and Siniard homered in game three.
- The Firehawks left nine on base.
- Carson took the loss falling to 0-8 on the year.
NEXT UP
UTS will begin MSC Championship play April 29-30 traveling to the Cumberlands in a best of three series. Game times have not been announced at this time.
