MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2024 Barnes & Noble College Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Dalton State's Giselle Dominguez was named Barnes & Noble College Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior mathematics major and secondary education minor has a 3.66 GPA. On the course, she finished 3
rd at the SSAC Championship at 23:06 to earn All-Conference honors and a bid to the 2024 NAIA National Championship.
Emma Vizina represented UT Southern on the team. Vizina was named SSAC Runner of the Week two times this season, and competed in the NAIA National Championship. Her highest individual finish was in the Topper Trails College Classic, where she took the top podium spot. She also finished fifth in the SSAC Championship.

- To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
- Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one year at the school
- Mobile's Claire Atkins leads with a 4.0 GPA, while Blue Mountain Christian's Aubrey Britt and Katie Meeks boast 3.95 and 3.90 marks
- Dominguez, Emma Vizina, Kayley Burgess, Harley Garner and Britt earned All-Conference honors. Dominguez and Vizina qualified for the NAIA National Championship
