PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern Cross Country teams have officially announced their 2025 competition schedule, featuring a strong slate of regional meets and a home invitational.
The Firehawks will open the season on August 29 at the Foothills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State, followed by the North Alabama Invitational on September 5. UT Southern will host its annual Firehawk Invitational on September 20 in Oakville, Ala.
The competitive stretch continues with a trip to Tallahassee for the FSU Invitational hosted by Florida State on September 26. The Firehawks then head to the UAH Invitational on October 11, before wrapping up the regular season at the Appalachian Challenge hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan on October 24.
The postseason begins with the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship on November 7, held in Oakville, Ala.
Last fall, the men's team recorded their best-ever finish at the SSAC Championship, placing second overall, while the women's squad matched their highest finish with a strong third-place showing. Standout Bruno Villazon captured the SSAC individual title, while he, along with Emma Vizina and Cierra Arnold, qualified for the NAIA National Championship, representing UT Southern on the national stage.
Head Coach Justin Watson enters his fifth season at the helm, looking to build on last year's momentum and continue the program's rise within the SSAC and beyond.
