MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference released its 2026 Softball Coaches' Preseason Poll, with UT Southern selected third following a 2025 campaign that saw the Firehawks finish just two wins shy of an NAIA Softball World Series berth.
William Carey earned the top spot in the poll with six first-place votes, edging out Mobile, which received three. UT Southern followed in third with 60 points.
The 2026 SSAC Softball Championship is set for April 30–May 2 in Decatur, Ala., at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex.
