Firehawks Head to Michigan with Berth into NAIA Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The field for the ninth-annual Nfinity NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship is set, including 15 teams – nine automatic qualifiers and six at-large – competing for the 2025 Red Banner at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Automatic qualifiers are determined by winners of conference qualifying tournaments, while at-large selections are made by the NAIA Competitive Cheer Selection Committee.

Defending national champion St. Ambrose (Iowa) headlines the 15 teams, in search of its third-consecutive national championship. They'll be challenged by all four institutions that have also won a Red Banner, including two-time champion Oklahoma City, last year's runner-up, Xavier (La.), Missouri Valley, and Concordia (Mich.), this year's championship host.

All 15 teams in the 2025 event have qualified previously, including 13 repeat qualifiers from the 2024 championship.

UT Southern will make their second straight appearance in the NAIA Championships. Last season they won the SSAC Championship and finished 11th in the NAIA.

The 2025 Nfinity NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship will air live on UEN and the NAIA Network, with links to both websites and both apps at www.naia.org/watch.
