- 1949-52: Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville, TN.

- 1953-55: Martin College in Pulaski, TN.  He was a Physical Education Major and played Basketball for the men's team.  Averaged 152 points per game and was the team captain from 1954-1955.

Awards and Recognition:

- 1953-55: Member of the Fine Arts Club and the M Club.


After Graduation

- He married his Martin Methodist College sweetheart, Inita Johnson, and have four children.

- Received his B.S. Degree in Education from Belmont University.

- Received his Master's Degree plus 45 hours from Peabody-Vanderbilt University/Tennessee State University.

Career:

- Nashville/Metro Public Schools

Other:

- Coached basketball, football, track, and softball

- Chaired the Intramural Programs
