TRANSOUTH TOURNAMENT COVERAGE

The RedHawks (27-20) jumped on the Tigers early, scoring all six of their runs in the second and third innings, highlighted by Dharianna Familia's second-inning solo blast and Jasmine Crenshaw's bases-clearing double in the third.

The solo shot marked the fourth homer of the season for Familia, who finished the day a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. The freshman cranked a one-out double in the bottom of the sixth for her other lone hit of the afternoon.

Crenshaw, meanwhile, launched a two-out double in the bottom of the third that ultimately proved to be the game's winning runs. The three RBIs marked a new single game career-high for the senior.

As a team, the RedHawks tallied eight hits – four of which went for extra bases.

On the mound, RedHawk starter Emily Robb (12-12) scattered six hits and allowed three runs – none earned – in the complete-game victory.

With the win, the RedHawks remained in the winner's bracket of the three-day tournament. The RedHawks will begin Day Two of their postseason run Thursday when they take on No. 3 seed Blue Mountain (Miss.) College, which defeated No. 6 seed Talladega (Ala.) College, 9-2, Wednesday night.
