MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2026 SSAC Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 2–8, with UT Southern's Luis Guilherme Cupertino de Santana earning SSAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors.

De Santana, a senior from Salvador, Brazil, collects his third career weekly honor after a strong individual performance during a split week for the Firehawks. Competing at the top of the lineup, he finished 3-1 on the week while facing a challenging slate of opponents.

The highlight of the week came at No. 1 singles against 15th-ranked Oakland City, where De Santana earned a marquee victory with a 7-6, 6-2 win. His performance played a key role for UT Southern against one of the top-ranked teams in the NAIA and showcased his consistency at the top spot in the lineup.

De Santana continues to be a steady presence for the Firehawks as UT Southern navigates a competitive spring schedule.
