GREENVILLE, Ala. – The UT Southern women's golf team competed at the 2026 SSAC Women's Golf Championship at RTJ Cambrian Ridge, finishing fourth overall with a three-round total of +132 (342–328–321).
The Firehawks showed steady improvement throughout the tournament, shaving strokes in each round and closing with their best score of the week in the final round.
Leading the way for UT Southern was Iona Pollitt, who finished 13th overall at +26 with rounds of 87–80–75. Pollitt delivered a strong final round, improving each day of the championship to pace the Firehawks.
Savannah Sandlin followed with a tie for 17th at +30, posting rounds of 86–83–77. Sandlin also improved across all three rounds, finishing with her best performance on the final day.
Maryssa Phillips turned in a consistent showing, finishing 21st overall at +34 with rounds of 80–84–86.
Harper Quick placed 25th with a three-round total of +42 (89–81–88), while Araya Hughes rounded out the lineup in 34th at +77 with rounds of 104–97–92.
In addition to their performance on the course, the Firehawks were recognized with multiple postseason honors.
Iona Pollitt earned First-Team All-Conference honors, highlighting her strong season and leadership at the top of the lineup.
Maryssa Phillips was named Second-Team All-Conference, giving UT Southern two All-Conference selections.
In the classroom, Mallory Cardin, Maryssa Phillips, Iona Pollitt, and Harper Quick were named to the SSAC Athletic Solutions All-Academic Team, recognizing their excellence off the course.
Pollitt also earned a spot on the SSAC Champions of Character Team, representing UT Southern for her integrity, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
The Firehawks' performance at the SSAC Championship caps the 2026 season, with UT Southern continuing to show growth and development against one of the conference's strongest fields.
