MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Following a breakout week that helped extend UT Southern's unbeaten start, junior midfielder Nick Miske has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
The award marks the first weekly conference honor of Miske's career and the second Offensive Player of the Week recognition earned by a Firehawk this season, joining Christian Sentz.
Miske played a pivotal role in a 2-0 week for UT Southern, helping the Firehawks improve to 7-0-1 overall and 3-0 in SSAC play.
The Dorsten, Germany, native totaled three goals during the week, highlighted by a two-goal performance in UT Southern's 3-2 victory over No. 10 Lindsey Wilson College. Miske scored both second-half goals for the Firehawks, including the game-winning strike that secured one of the program's biggest victories of the season.
He followed that performance by scoring the decisive goal in UT Southern's 2-1 Senior Day victory over Blue Mountain Christian, giving him both game-winning goals during the Firehawks' unbeaten week.
Miske's offensive surge has helped fuel UT Southern's strong start to the season, as the Firehawks have emerged as one of the top teams in the Southern States Athletic Conference and continue to receive national recognition.
