MOBILE, Ala. – The Martin Methodist Women's Tennis team picked up one victory and played two other matches close in a 1-3 weekend at the first SSAC RoundUp at the Mobile Tennis Center.

On Thursday, the RedHawks suffered a 7-2 defeat to No. 23 University of Mobile (Ala.). The RedHawks picked up a victory at No. 1 doubles and added a point at No. 3 singles.

Michelle Blaha factored in both of the points as she teamed with Skylar McDonald for an 8-6 victory over the team of Emily Chang and Sina Marchione. Blaha also won her singles match, 6-1, 6-0, versus Marina Capitani.

On Friday, the RedHawks split their pair of contests as they picked up an 8-1 victory versus Blue Mountain (Miss.) and fell, 5-4, to No. 20 Loyola (La.).

The RedHawks won 2-of-3 doubles points and swept singles action in their matchup versus Blue Mountain.

In Friday's finale, the RedHawks claimed a victory at No. 1 doubles, but lost the other two points to trail entering singles play. Singles play saw the RedHawks pick up wins at the top three positions, but dropped the bottom three points to suffer the hard-fought loss.

On Saturday, the RedHawks suffered a 7-2 defeat to No. 9 William Carey (Miss.). Michelle Blaha and Skylar McDonald picked up the victory at No. 1 doubles to finish the week a perfect 4-0. Blaha suffered her first loss of the weekend at No. 1 singles, while McDonald picked up the point at No. 2.

The RedHawks return to action on Saturday, Feb. 25, when they travel to NCAA Division II squad Lee University
